Great potential.

Let me just say first that the voice acting was pretty good. Obviously could do with a bit more work but I'm sure you'd manage to do that if you continue working like this.

The graphics were good enough to understand what was going on and would - as I said before - would become great if you continue working like this. Good music choices and the audio quality was quite clear.

Could of been a bit lengthier but it's good to keep us wanting more.

Great flash for your second, you've got great potential and I'm sure you'll become much better if you keep doing what you do best. 10/10.

SCUD14 responds:

Thanks mate, This was indeed my first time voice acting, with only an Xbox 360 headset, and I was banned from the forums so I couldn't request help =P

The concept makes me cringe... yay!

first of all, loved the preloader. Cleverly done.

The whole thing, well, great choice in music, like always - Snayk is a fucking god amongst men. Now, I love your art work, it just reminds me (on some of the scenes) of Roy Lichtenstein's work and that makes it very nice to look at. The whole animation really did manage to give me the creeps, and I usually don't get those from your work, even though you make some great trippy material, so good going on that. It was all so nightmare-ish. Me likey.

I swear, Karri, next time you submit movies, you must inform me over MSN because I love your work and would love it if I had you in a cage, in my basement working for me 24/7 with no breaks. Ah well, a man can dream. I struggle to continue writing reviews for your work for some reason - probably because after watching it, I show a bunch of other people the animation - but yeah, now I'll leave giving you a 10/10, a five and a favouriting for the submission.

Catoblepas responds:

I tried informing you, but apparently for some reason you didn't get the msg.

And I only need breaks for coffee. Thanks for the review, btw.

Not bad.

I'm a huge Pink Floyd fanatic and I approve of this submission. I fived it while it was under judgement and I fived it again while I was writing this review.

This movie was a nice little watch and I liked how smooth some of the animation was, and no matter what, it was always on sync. I do think you use the filter effects a little less than you were, though - it does make the animation go a bit slow and it'd make flash harder for you to work with.

The graphics, overall, they were pretty nice to look at but I do believe you should practice more on animation, just here and there. I think practicing walk cycles would be essential for you so you could then add more to your animation. I also felt like there wasn't much of a plot going on, but, with the power station near the tree - and seeing the difference in colour in the sky - I felt like there was an idea brewing up.

Anyways: unless if you've already got all of this planned out, maybe you should start planning on what'll happen in the next part of the Dark Side Of The Moon series you're wanting to do. I think it'd be a lovely idea if you managed to pull it all off, but just make sure you're making a storyline from it, too. (maybe with the album's original concept, too, which I believe was birth)

Anyways, I wish you luck on it, if you try to continue it; if not, I wish you luck on any future projects you have. 8/10.

GloineFiodh responds:

Thank you so much. It's hard for me to do a walk cycle without tweens for some reason, but practice makes perfect. I might reconsider doing the album, and thats the thing, I had no storyboard or anything for this one and was animating is I went, but towards the end with the factory and what not, I was developing something. Again, thank you.

I want my children to look like this.

This was amazing as fuck, I swear. The audio used was brilliant and the animation was so smooth and surreal, this'll obviously get knocked down by score when it passes because the Newgrounds public usually can't stand crazy-ass flashes like this, but don't listen to them, this was brilliant.

Good audio quality, clean artwork, and i just love how in most of your work, you just make it look as glitchy as possible. Dude, you deserve front pages more often or something and I hope this gets a trophy as it was ace. Not much I can say more about this so I'll five it, fave it and leave a 10/10.

Different.

I can see this is your first submission (first flash, too?) and to be fair, I thought it was a bit of a disappointing flash: the graphics were alright, the animation of the explosion ran smoothly and the smoke was nicely done, too but the thing I didn't like about this is that you didn't use voice acting and it wasn't exactly long.

The concept behind the flash (which you explained in the author's comments) is quite humorous, but it didn't go so well into the flash.

Suggestions I have for you: next time you make a flash, if you can, maybe ask on the Newgrounds' flash forum for voice actors - loads of people will be happy to help and spend a bit more time on the length of the flash - no matter how long it takes - the longer, the better.

Right now, I'll have to give this a 3/10 but I'll wish you good look on whatever future projects you do.

DOOMEDtoDOOM responds:

Thank you for actually giving me constructive criticism, as opposed to "Try harder next time."

As far as voice acting goes - I didn't really want to do any myself (my high annoying young-teeny voice kind of doesn't fit that mustached guy) and I didn't really want to ask for any voice acting because I wanted to get the thing finished.

The length is basically all I felt dedicating to this thing, as I really didn't like it at all.

I originally had no plans to submit this, but said friends I mentioned in the Author Comments convinced me to.

There are plenty of things I could have done to make this better but I think this is OK considering it took me maybe 30 minutes, tops.

Goddammit, Rena.

I got him chocolates. ;-;

Even though there was no obvious effort in this (on the graphics, anyway), it made me laugh. I guess I still have a very immature sense of humour - I see that as a good thing.

The thought was nice and it was quite funny, too. I'm sure Mike is getting his kicks from this right now and is having a wank ALL NIGHT LONG over this.

Nice thought, good for a quick laugh, nice job. 10/10.

Little-Rena responds:

Zero effort graphic wise, lmao. Though I made lame text on purpose, if I had known and thought about it more in advance, it'd have looked better ;)

Thanks for the review.

I don't really like sprite movies anymore...

...so the review score I've given is pretty decent, if you ask me. To start with, it is sprite animation and unless if you made them yourself, it isn't your own artwork. (although, I'm sure you'd know that) Although, I do agree that sprites can be used to get you into new techniques and ideas of flash so in a way, I do respect sprite animation.

Well, I did like the edited preloader and the menu - it all ran smoothly. In my opinion, though, the beginning of the collaboration was rather lame but towards the end, I did start getting a few giggles. I also liked some of the audio edits you used (maybe you edited them yourself? I don't know) such as the Mika and Bloodhound Gang edits.

The main animation was quite smooth too although when the scenes contained zooming in, I thought it was a bit tacky. Some scenes though, I loved all the small details added to it although, on some of them, I also noticed the small details you missed out on. (the scene with the mine car: the wheels could of been in motion) It also seemed like there were more explosions than cock jokes which makes the animation title a bit misleading.

The graphics were clean, the sound quality was crisp and the animation was smooth. Pretty much what a good submission needs, really. In my opinion, I'd say half of the flash was humorous while the other half may of just been rushed attempts at making jokes. I did like the Jackass Party Boy references, though.

Overall: I'd have to give this a 6/10. Not really my type of thing to watch all the way through, but it wasn't rubbish. People would find it entertaining and I'm sure it could get front page and maybe into a few collections.

Emanhattan responds:

sir. I appreciate your comment. yes the wheels on the dick tales part was kinda my fault. i could make them myself but i couldnt

as for party boy. the sprites where done by myself.

thanks for watching. keep awesome and keep reasonable

Loved it, like all your other pieces.

The preloader gave me a jolly, green smile just with the concerned psycho killer smirk. Loved it. I love all the small details you put into your work, as well. The preloader's play button was interesting. Very Back To The Future.

I love how crazy your stuff turns out to be. So abstract, so psychedelic. Many people won't appreciate this and will try to 'help' you by saying you should go to a psychiatrist and get sorted out. Fuck 'em. Nothings wrong with you, you're just original.

I love your art style. It just reminds me of 60s pop-art, for some reason. Nice work on all the violent bits and pieces, too. Nice choice in 'music', as well.

All I can really do is compliment this piece of work for it is perfect in every way imaginable. I'll see this on the front page in a day or two, most likely. Everyone should love this long time. It's PERFECT.

10/10.

Catoblepas responds:

Thanks man, for you kind and encouraging words.

Needed a quality button for...

...whenever the movie plays slowly. It happened to me because the file size is quite large and my computer is reasonably old. A quality button and a play button would of been great. (I was listening to Manic Street Preachers when the flash started to play and I thought there would be a play button :() The music loop was also quite poor. It left a pretty big gap before it played again. Either choose another track which will loop better or try to get rid of that gap in the track.

For the majority of the animation, it was quite smooth and looked pretty good. Shame it was just a short experiment. It'd be great if you tried to pull off a series (based on Final Fantasy? Your choice. Could be good) with the equipment you used to make this little experiment - fight scenes would look godly.

I think you could become a brilliant 3D artist if this was your first go. I thought for what it was, it was rather nice to look at. Try experimenting with other character and extend the length of the animation and then you'll have something much better. That, a play button, a quality button for slow computers and a better track! :P

The file size was huge so it may be best if you learnt how to compress things to a smaller size in the future too so we don't have to wait for so long for such a small movie and so that none of your submissions exceed the Newgrounds upload limit.

I'll leave you with by saying this was a nice first and shows great potential! Good luck on any future projects you may work on!

6/10.

rolfalmao responds:

Thanks for weighing in! Yeah, the movie slows down on my powerhouse computer so I can imagine how it bad would be on older systems. I dont think the quality button would be much use however since this the movie is basically an imported swf and will not be affected (only in drawn objects are effected). That said, I will do some heavy compression before I dish out the next entry. I had no idea the music loop gap would be different on different systems. The gap is hardly noticeable on my pc. Thanks for pointing that out. If the animation looks good, then this experiment is a success! I'll definitely refine it and work on improving everything you guys said. Thank you very much for your encouragement.

Hahaha, brilliant.

What a smart little flash, this is! My, god! Well, I just loved the idea of this being about a 'cat' who loved to live and play but in the end, ended up just being hooked to the computer and living indoors all the time. This has a rather powerful meaning and that is just simply: Get the fuck off the computer, go outside and enjoy yourself!
Now, we know some people won't do that, but still, it's a nice try and a rather powerful moral. :P

I liked the fact that you were also experimenting with this flash instead of doing your old routines of using the brush tool. It's great to experiment with new and old things. The graphics were nice on the cat and on the computer (nice use of filter effects, by the way!) but I did feel that the children outside should of had a bit more work done to them and even the football. I also felt like the children should of been kittens, as well.

Although, there was a bit that I was picky with with this animation, I still really liked it and I'm going to add it to my favourites. Nice short with a good choice of music, too.

8/10.

Fora responds:

Woah, what an awesome review, you made my day.
When I begun with this flash I just made a guy, not a kitty or something.
Then I saw house of 1000 cats and that flash really inspired me.
My idea was that I wanted to show how a day of a kitty looks like, but I found that kinda stupid so I ended up with this. I know about the children and I wasn't really happy with the football scene, but it took so long to get a good story and finding that song wasn't easy to, I really wanted that song.
So I got a bit lazy on the end and rushed the children and the football. ( stupid me )
Thanks for the awesome review.
